During WW2 H.G. Wells made series of radio broadcasts to the British people - in some ways they were almost as important as Churchill's radio broadcasts. I think he made the comment that most of the evils of history had been perpetrated in the name of nationalism - I think it was this word rather than patriotism. Patriotism is fine as far as it relates to pride and love of country. Where I have a problem is when patriotism steps towards 'uber alles' - which ever country it is. d
