AFTER THE BELL - America Online rises
NEW YORK, July 6 (Reuters) - Shares of America Online Inc. (NYSE:AOL - news) continued to rise in post-session trading Tuesday after a newspaper report featured the world's largest Internet service provider.

AOL stock was trading up 13/16 at 121-3/4 after hours on the Instinet electronic trading system. The New York Times over the weekend carried a lengthy article on AOL in which in mentioned plans to double its subscribers in five years.

Despite a raft of profit warnings announced after the close, post-session action was light, Instinet traders said.

Companies warning they see results falling short of Wall Street's expectations included Respironics Inc. (Nasdaq:RESP - news), New Era of Networks Inc. (Nasdaq:NEON - news), Praegitzer Industries Inc. (Nasdaq:PGTZ - news) and HCR Manor Care Inc. (NYSE:HCR - news).

The New York Stock Exchange said session one volume was 1.7 million shares compared with 1.09 million shares on Friday. Session two volume was 2.77 million shares compared with 28.7 million shares on Friday.
