I think having a child and giving it up for adoption is an emotional life changing event, its really too much for a teenager to handle, and depending on the circumstances can cause serious financial difficulties and a break in education/work for that person. Since I don't believe a fetus is human, its a tough price to pay. Otoh, I know that someone who uses a semi-automatic weapon is intentionally trying to kill a human being, there is no question about it - a certainty. There is no other reason to have a semi-automatic weapon. So here you have an argument about something that might be a life depending on your pov, vs. outright killing. Its hard for me to believe preservation of life is the real issue here.
