I'd be looking to go short if it rebounded to the 23-24 area. Busted niche software stocks rarely recover when they hit the wall. The severity of the miss suggests something is wrong with the core business, not just a few missed sales.

Thoughts??

I think the critical issue to determine about NEON right now is whether or not the competition is having the same troubles.

This is a mirror image of what happened to Remedy about a year ago. First we heard that the company wasn't able to close sales in the current quarter. Later we learned that the entire sales force had to be revamped because there weren't enough quality people who could close sales with customers' CEOs and CFOs. It was specific to Remedy and it took time to solve the problem.

Personally, I'd wait to see what shakes out in the next six months before deciding on any particular investing strategy with NEON. If it is truly a potential gorilla, there's plenty of time to get in. If it's not a potential gorilla, you'll be glad you didn't get in.

Thoughts??

Back when I would buy this type of stock, if this happened, I would cut my losses and run.
