Time to take some profit?

It is nice to see the recent run-up from the 8s to the current level of close to $14. Now, the question is if this is the time to take some profit before the earning comes out?

The dip into the 8s from $11 level was clearly due to the scare from NTAI's involement of Albatronics. With the annoucement from the management that NTAI's investment was all written off and NTAI would not have any further liability if Albatronics gets liquidated, NTAI's share started to recover. The share price got another help from the announcement that NTAI expects a strong growth of sale and profit in 99H2 vs. 98H2.

What exactly will be the growth in 99H2 vs. 98H2? That is the wild card. If the current estimate for 99 earning is accurate, which is $1.8 for the year, NTAI trades at a p/e of 7.8. This is roughly the average p/e for stocks from HK/China/Taiwan, I think.

Bottom line: perhaps, this is the time to take some profit, and reassess the situation after the earning for 99Q2.

Comments appreciated.
