when Mother Nature, for some unknown reason,
decides to get on your case.

E.G.
First, there were unknown critters, later
determined to be raccoons, who were chewing
up our lawn during the wee hours of each night.

These lil darlings were ultimately discouraged
through the use of moth balls and other home remedies.

Then there was the poor little bird that decided to
fling itself into my radiator, spewing feathers right
and left, just so I'd feel super guilty (it worked, too!)

Well, after a period of calm, I noticed that our lawn
was again beginning to get that chewed up/chewed on look, though
different from the ravages of the raccoons.

Tonight I happened upon the new offenders.
SKUNKS.
Two huge ones, milling about between me and the
front door.

Nothing would scare them away.
Not honking.
Not shining my brights on them.
Not stamping my foot (a goodly distance away,
I might add).

Finally, I had to wait for them to move
so I could make a dash for it.

Moral of the story:
Mother Nature can be annoying....<g>
