I saw "The Ideal Husband" today at the Clearview's Chelsea on 23rd (NYC),because it was rumored (on the net) to be Cinecomm. You'd never know it: no announcement, nothing, until the very last credit, which announced Hughes-JVC Digital. No mention of the Q. Had a hard time staying awake during this Oscar Wilde-by-way-of-Masterpiece-Theatre costume drama. But the colors and textures were rich, the focus very sharp; my only complaint was some sort of out-of-focus purple circle that ran through the picture maybe a 1/4 of the way in, twice; first time for 1/2 a second, then for a second or so. Digital artifact? In any case I haven't (and won't)see the film projection, so don't know if it's there as well. I think it'll be there another couple weeks.
ps- The dog that didn't bark... wasn't that from Sherlock Holmes?
