I'd be mad, too. Not to the point of holding a grudge, what's the point. But if sounds like your wife considered the friendship more important than it sounds like her friend did. Sometimes that means the end of a friendship. That can hurt a lot.

I am APPALLED!!! A List, B list? I've never heard of this! Forget it! What a crock. That makes me mad to think about it! Do you get to bring a cheap present because you're on the B list? Are they going to see a slideshow of the A list wedding? Look around at all the other Wannabe A listers and think- losers? I'm either A list or I'm an acquaintance. Your wife either misinterpreted the closeness of this friendship, or this woman is extremely tacky and thoughtless. She should be civil to the woman, but I sure wouldn't trust her with any of my deep dark secrets. Or put her in my will.
