(off topic) Casaubon, thanks for that glimpse into nuclear physics. No need to continue this discussion with me as we differ too much in how we each choose to pursue the understanding and exploration. As it does make commen sence that one needs to understand the basic fundamentals and be current with what has and is being tried, I found that to reach a point beyond that obtained by others, that one can be better off to not understand too much of what others are doing as you may just duplicate their efforts, and if they are on the wrong path or going towards a dead end, then you will follow. <<So, you can't just assume such a linear progression...>> The model I presented in my post reflected not a process but a way to obtain new information needed by critical steps of a process. thanks doug
