Disney, Katzenberg Settle Suit

BURBANK, Calif.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--July 7, 1999--Jeffrey Katzenberg and The Walt Disney Company announced today that they have agreed to a settlement of the lawsuit filed by Mr. Katzenberg in 1996.

The terms of the settlement are confidential and were not disclosed. However, both Katzenberg and Michael Eisner, Disney's chairman and chief executive officer, said that they are satisfied with the conclusion of the case.

Katzenberg commented, "I'm very pleased that we were able to finally resolve this matter, and I'd like to thank Bert Fields, Brian Edwards, Bonnie Eskenazi, Helene Hahn and Dick Zimbert for their extraordinary work over these many years."

Michael Eisner said, "I am glad that we were able to come to an acceptable settlement. I want to express the company's appreciation to our outstanding legal team, which did such a great job in handling the matter and enabling us to reach this agreement. However, the time has come to put this matter behind us and to focus on our new business initiatives."
