IMHO, not totally wild fantasy. Something like this may happen if AMD financials keep bleeding profusely.

This is one of the better ideas that has come from this thread ... AMD
is drastically reducing their IC process development capability and I
would expect that AMD's manufacturing capability (as it is) will also wither
away. Maybe a sale to Samsung would turn AMD's stock price around.
