Yes! the speed of the beta is comparable to the Classic SI.

Though I admit to only going into it in the evenings, and I'm not on a T1.

if you don't count all of Cheeky's requests to put a box around the messages. (Yes, Cheeky, we're planning to do that as well - as a customization option.)

So... Bad design wins out. Very disappointing.

Bryan, am I going blind, or is the People Search missing? If the former, where is it?

Another question: why are there only twenty posts listed on the Personal Profile page? On Classic SI, there are one hundred. Why less rather than more?

Now for a suggestion, which I hope you would welcome in view of your declared intention to "enhance our [SI's]search capabilities." Introduce a search feature that would enable us to search back for an individual's posts.

Some people's contributions are so valuable that it would be neat to be able to run a quick search for them, rather than to have to laboriously comb through the threads where they normally post. Running a regular search won't do the trick, unless the poster signs his/her posts (which people often do not), because the search function does not pick up the name in the header. Or, come to think of it, perhaps you could program the regular search function to include the "From" name (and maybe even the "To").

Hope this is clear -- I am definitely not a techie. :-)
