I do not often post here but it seems to me that there has been much confusion (some of it created on purpose?) over what 'in the black means'. Whereas I believe that the question at the CC was intended to be an enquiry as to when Valence would be making operating profits, the answer referred specifically to cash flow;

"Wright who answered, and he said that in the quarter following (3Q00, Oct-Dec), because the capital expenditures would drop, they would be 'in the black' as regards cash flow, just based on their expected Hanil and Alliant orders."

Being 'in the black' as regards cash flow would be a welcome step forward in my book (i.e. revenue from sales being greater than operating and capital expenditure combined). However, I don't believe that we will 'be in the black' as far as making operating profits for some quarters to come.

Still long and strong on VLNC who it seems to me are edging ahead in a huge potential market.

Barry
