Fred Willard to Host 17th Annual Montreal International Comedy Festival Webcast On iNEXTV Affiliate AENTV.com

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 7, 1999--

The "Cannes of Comedy" Internet Special in Streaming Video

Begins July 21, 1999; 17-Year Video Archive

to be Available in Five Languages

Drew Cummings, president and CEO of the Alternative Entertainment Network, a strategic partner of Ampex Corporation (AMEX:AXC), has announced that Fred Willard, one of Hollywood's most original comedic talents (Fernwood Tonight, Roseanne, Waiting for Guffman, and currently Austin Powers II -- The Spy Who Shagged Me) will host a multi-faceted Internet special event for AENTV at this year's Montreal International Comedy Festival.

David Hyde-Pierce, Elayne Boosler, Howie Mandel, Luke Perry, Jerry Springer and Lea Delaria are among the more than 200 comedians from 18 countries that will be performing at this year's Festival, which will include a "live" talk show hosted by Willard.

AENTV coverage, from Festival headquarters at the Delta Hotel in Montreal, will include behind-the-scenes Festival events including street performers, backstage interviews, and entertainment industry conferences. AENTV, one of the leading Internet producers and aggregators of streaming video content, will have crews and reporters around the city to cover the events. Both the "live" talk show and on-demand streaming video of past festivals will kick off July 21 on the Comedy Channel of the AENTV website (http://www.aentv.com).

The 17 years of on-demand comedy performances include such icons as Drew Carey, George Burns, Jerry Seinfeld, Milton Berle, Brett Butler, Jonathan Winters, Tim Allen, P. Paul Reiser, and Roseanne, to name a few. What will also make the webcast at this year's Festival unique is that many of the performances will be translated into French, German, Spanish, and Japanese, making this a truly International comedy event taking full advantage of the worldwide Internet audience.

Based in southern California, AENTV, www.aentv.com, began operations in 1996 and is a leading producer and aggregator of streaming video content for delivery over the Internet. Broadcasting & Cable magazine recently named AENTV, along with ABC, CNN, MSNBC, FOX, & MTV as one of the "Top 10 Video Sites on the Internet."
