I'm not a conspiracy theorist either - I think the biggest argument against it is that it assumes that all CBs have the same interest in seeing gold go down - when surely they would like to see it remain constant in value or to rise in value. On the other hand there may well be a few brokerage houses who are engaged in manipulation - look at the recent fine of $15 million imposed on Merrill Lynch for its part in copper manipulation - this revelation caused only minor comment in the media. But if there is gold manipulation going on - on the short side - it becomes increasingly risky here with so much pressure mounting from industry and national interests. d
