Another possibility is the employee 401K. Usually the company's stock is an option along with mutual funds, money market, etc. Most plans allow for a certain number of transfers and they have to be done either the day before or at some point mid-day. That allows the plan administrator the opportunity to lump the transactions into large lots for block trading purposes and it may be that the executions are done late in that respective trading day. Just a guess, no knowledge on this subject.
