Steve and thread,

If anybody is still following this thread, there was an interesting piece in Sunday's NT Times business section written by Gretchen Morgensohn (my favorite financial journalist) concerning AMZN. According to Ms. Morgensohn, the Street seems to be waking up (finally!) to the problems in retail e-commerce. What was most interesting to me was that she discussed the very concerns I raised on this thread around six months ago. Specifically, she noted that profitability is still unimaginable given AMZN's current business model, and she discussed its need to grow to generate cash, and the problems that would ensue should AMZN not continue to grow at the kind of pace we've seen in the past.

Unfortunately, the article has not appeared on the NY Times web site, so I suggest a trip to the library to read her thoughts.

TTFN,
CTC
