You know I don't understand why you are reacting so hysterically just because I don't think race should be hidden by the press as you do. Let's review what's been said. The Smith case in Illinois was mentioned in a post and someone else speculated that peer pressure or drugs might be the cause. Since I'd seen something on the news about it, I put the information that the killings the guy had performed were racially motivated in a reply post. You replied to me that race should NEVER be mentioned in the press ESPECIALLY in cases where race was the MOTIVE for the crime. I then said why not and how could you keep the race of the people out of the press any way unless you hide the identity of everybody involved? Of course, sometimes race and ethnicity can told by the name. Besides you seem to be forgetting that newspapers and TV typically show pictures of everyone involved so why try to hide the facts? Especially when there's no practical way to hide them anyway. And now you say that I and others . . . WANT to keep the country in a mode of racial split so you can throw up news articles that say "race, race" Let me apologize in advance for being rude but are you nuts??? If somebody is committing crimes against someone else because of their race, what's wrong with being honest and saying so or even mentioning it? What's wrong with honesty anyway? If that Smith guy had been driving around the midwest shooting up Presbyterians because they were Presbyterians would there some reason why it would be divisive or bad to report that fact? I don't see why. I could put up four or five murders from the paper where race was NOT a factor(white killing white or similar) that does not make the NSNBC sensationalism show of the week, or some politico's agenda. What do you think about that? Gee, I hope so. Probably more than 4 or 5. Of course you can do this only because the press doesn't hide relevant facts about crimes as you said you wanted it too. I can much easier understand you being upset about my differing opinion on abortion because of your beliefs but why are you acting so hysterically about this racial thing? You and I sure don't communicate very well. It looks to me like when you read my posts you are reading something there other than what I have written. About your Mom, of course I am glad she didn't have an abortion. I can see why you would have stronger feelings on this than many including me. Just because I don't consider early term abortion to be murder or want it to be treated as such does not mean that I want people to have abortions. Hope you understand the difference. If I were a woman I don't think I could have an abortion unless the pregnancy were caused by rape. In that case, I THINK I would want one. Bruce
