AHWY [2.2 mil float] has a published rumor of an AOL takeout at 30. I like the float and activity. . .and that CNBC has been picking up these rumors lately. . . better place for day money than UBID or MMPT, where we are just plucking pigeons. Keeping some of each. . .but watching AHWY most for daytrade.

It appears that the rumor originates with a sleezy newsletter called jagnotes. . . known for spewing out rumors, many of which never happen. . .

But when CNBC grabs hold, like it did with WWCA and some others. . . it takes it from a irresponsible rumor to one with a certain amount of credibility based on CNBC coverage. I am not saying they WILL. .. just that over the past week, they have taken many of these rumors that I would have thought they would have ignored. But they passed on the rumor over and over. . .

THAT doesn't make the rumor any more believable or true. This one probably is NOT true. But I am not playing for the takeover. . . just the hype. . . . not much else going on . . . so as this rumor diseminates. . .the price upticks. . .

Besides, I have been looking for a reason to play AHWY. . .mostly due to the 2.2 mil float. I, personally, don't buy the company much. . .revs in the hundreds of thousands, not millions. . . big ideas, but no big money backers to get them there.

But once more. . . this is NOT a long-termer. . .nor is it a position trade. . . nor even a swing trade. . . .but merely a momentum daytrade based on a dubious rumor.

So let the buyer beware.

The rating is Goldman's equivalent of a strong buy.

Network Plus has a solid history and "a running start" as a provider of combined local,
long-distance and data services, Hoexter said. It also is adding promising new services, he said.

The company went public late last month. Goldman was its lead underwriter.
