Thanks, LLCoolG, I'm glad to hear you are sensitive to <<qualify between conjecture, personal agendas and attacks, and pure-motive information sharing.>> That is exactly the way I feel. When I post, I specify when conjecture is involved and I really don't have a "personal agenda". When I see someone spamming a worthless commercial site, I distinguish between that, and <<pure-motive information sharing.>> I have no problem with anyone's posts, when they express whatever personal opinion they may have. Nor do I have a problem with someone's desire to promote a business venture or site, *anywhere* on the web, and certainly Mr. Norris has been flogging his, on Yahoo. I just have one small wish: could we please keep just one tiny corner of cyberspace free of such mercantile activity *as SI was meant to be, by its rules of use*? I don't care if folks spam things up and down and all over cyberspace. But I pay for an SI membership, and hope that people would respect its express commercial-free posting policy. If you find a site useful, and recommend it for whatever reason, I have no problem either. The only thing I object to is someone spamming their own site for commercial gain - not to stand up against this, is to simply allow SI to turn into a forum for an endless parade of touts. Not only does that violate SI policy, but turns SI into just another Yahoo. I am also glad to hear that you think people should check on basic info about a stock, or <<they get what they deserve>>. This is very amusing. When Mr. Norris came on SI some weeks ago, and spammed his site across many boards, I asked him politely to please stop spamming, and I also called him on the shabbiness of his site. You pointed out something very salient. There is really no "added value" to his site - other than to himself, for commercial reasons. The information, such as there is, can easily be found elsewhere, and on top of everything else, his - *is riddled with errors*, LOL! So, why exactly, would anyone desperately need to use his site for? I can see what's in it for him, but what's in it for everybody else? For the sake of what exactly are you proposing to sacrifice SI principles, and pollute the one place on the web where we try to avoid "Yahooizaton"? If at least is was *worth* something! I too, personally have no interest in conspiracy theories. I post my observations, and I leave it up to others to react - which is the best use of SI I can think of... "information sharing", rather than "commercial spamming", and "personal agendas". Have a nice day. Morgan
