Market seems to have stalled at least short term, strong indication
that MMs are taking up short positions , ( they often don't hold
them long ) but they seem to be shorting right now.

Jim, interesting observation on the DCB phenomenon - i'll keep an eye on today's catastrophes. btw, i remember that in '87, shortly before the market tanked, a few highfliers were cut down due to earnings disappointments. of course that happens all the time, but back then there was a sudden increase in these cases. one of them i remember offhand was the GAP. in retrospect it was an advance warning that all was not well with the market. i heard on CNBC today that several large players sold calls and bought puts on the treasury bond contract. more pain ahead for the bond?

regards,

hb
