If they built that fortune on such a shakey foundation, then they should not be doing this. If it is that critical that they "take profits" to keep themselves rich on paper, rather than wait for 6 months while some small downturn passes by and goes up farther, then they should be in bond funds and take their profit.

Better to decide where they want to sell and when they want to diversify and then take profits on a regular basis when they can. I sold a little at 150 yesterday and moved it off into mutual funds. I am covered for the dip and will wait for the next rise.....
