no calls from SI. They never notify anyone or even tell you they gave out this information.

Does anyone else here think that SI's policy of giving out our information without our knowledge in response to a subpoena is not a good policy? I'm not too happy about it myself. Anyone?

Unless ordered to do so (eg. criminal investigation) I think SI should give you notice that they have received a subpoena and then give you a certain number of days (15 for example) to file an appropriate objection, interpleader or temporary injunction. I think SI may have breached their contract with you by not telling you that they have received a subpoena requesting your identity IN ADVANCE of releasing it. And yes, you do have a contract with SI, afterall, you paid them money, right? When you pay money, as opposed to a free service like R.B. and Yahoo, the relationship is changed and there are certain implied duties owed by each party.

In my legal opinion.
