I would say that Atlantic Blue on my screen is about the same color as Microsoft blue. One thing about colors is that they look different depending on the color surrounding them - SI blue seems a little brighter than Microsoft blue, but it's surrounded by large fields of white, whereas Microsoft blue takes up the whole screen.

I agree that there doesn't seem to be any explanation why lapis is blue just looking at the chemical formula, maybe refraction by the crystals? Maybe Blue Crab can explain it.
