<...QPE designed and made all but the last few models.>

Did I miss something? I was about to comment about John G.'s statement about an empty phone factory in San Diego because I was still assuming Sony and QCOM were cohabiting the same factory. (I have been outside the gate, but not inside). Then at the annual meeting I was told that the 50/50 split in phones produced by QPE had been recently tilted to a majority of phones with QCOM on them because of demand.

My assumption would be that the Q needs every bit of capacity they can get-- that the relatively small number of personnel changes announced by Sony indicates the factory remains intact but will be producing all Q phones (not Qphones) and everyone on the floor will show up in Oct just like they did in June.

So did I miss an announcement that Sony had moved out and started another factory some time ago? You seem to be suggesting that Sony was considerably more independent than I've been assuming them to be--particularly of late.
