[OT -- on a subject that's caused massive outpourings on appropriate threads ] but I can't say I'm thrilled with the new layout. However, I'm keeping an open mind - maybe it'll grow on me. It's grown on me. I like the colors, the clean layout for the message (with no damn box around the message [for which see my response list]). They've said that they will be offering more customization for those who like the box for unaccountable reasons and would prefer to change the colors. I especially like the more complete set of features. The IQC charts used now have long been my favorite. I don't like to have to go back and look at the "classic" easter-egg SI layout anymore. I haven't had any log-in problems, but it would be great if you'd tell them about the problems you've had, since it sounds like they've identified some problems with the beta environment. I'm in the same city as the server and can get to SI classic with just 8 hops or 10 on the beta. Despite the extra two jumps, I'm actually getting pages nearly twice as fast on the beta site (200 kbps v. 100 on classic). (Based on reports from Net.Medic which measures retrieval times for web pages.)

OFF TOPIC -- SI Beta. Overall I like the 'New' SI. I really dislike the 'cookie requirement' and I tried to send a PM and couldn't find how. I'l like to download ALL posts instead of groups of ten. I like the chart stuff. Colours don't matter one way or the other to me. Miss BID and ASK. Cheers, PW.
