Hmmm, well for me I mostly use options as another place to offset risk, especially if a particular equity position is going against me, I look to the options market to reduce my exposure. There isn't any specific strategy I use, only ones that either eliminate the pain or lock in realized profits.

And yes I do focus on specific stocks and a large majority of them do not have option listings, so it does limit my ability to use that market.

You might want to consider what I stated in my last posting, namely that I was selling premium rather than buying it. The reason for this is simple, options represent a decaying asset, so if the stock were to trade in and around the strike price or activity simply dried up, each day you hold those options, the chances increase that they will expire worthless. That's money in your pocket!

Remember though, selling premium (naked) is not for the faint of heart!
