thank you, jeff, for that National Guard summary. squares with what i've been hearing from my shall we call them 'senior' national guard buddies who are still in that fine branch of service. in many ways they have the toughest assignment of all: willingness and training to kill the enemy, who looks and talks and walks just like a bazillion other Americans. and to think it didn't have to be this way. but maybe the greenspans and the clintons knew more opportunists than they do realists and didn't trust the collective wisdom of reasonable folks who have a full set of facts and can act appropriately upon them. i've saved that particular post and will print it out for some of those who ARE my neighbors and do 'get it.' many thanks.
