Sprint is a provider for Iridium. If their efforts on behalf of G* were to be as poor as they've been with Iridium, G* can do without. Here in SoCal Sprint and AirTouch are pretty fierce competitors. I have Sprint wireless service because they were first to offer CDMA in San Diego. When the I*/G* discussion over service providers efficiency heated up here on the board, I called both Sprint and AirTouch requesting the new sattellite phone. Neither response was inspiring. However, at least the AirTouch rep knew a sattellite phone existed. Not so with Sprint - and I* had been "live" for a month by then.
