I don't know whether my friends saw the colors differently or had a different point on the color wheel they called Yellow, or "most yellow". So it was a pretty uncontrolled experiment. But I took with me the strong impression that the difference was perceptual rather than cognitive. But I can't prove it.

The most intense and beautiful colors I've seen - outside the Munsell Solid by virtue of their "hyperchroma" - are retinal afterimages from bright lights.
