I think there is a misconception of the nature of e.Digital's
MicroOS, which throws many folks off. Ref: your comment(from post 6216).
My understanding is that it is a system for the storage and retrieval of data and doesn't need to be part of a controller chip, as it
resides in a very small footprint within storage. Think of
it as a "closet organizer" for Flash memory. As such it optimizes the use of expensive storage, and operates independently from a CPU.
Question for you: From point 6 of post 6216... If a company has a
valuable intellectual property, which others seem to need and can't seem to duplicate on their own, what difference does it make how
many employees it has?
Regarding compelling arguments, you made one yourself:
"some big league players buying in"
Someone from Lucent thought they could have gone on their own to recreate what e.Digital has at considerable expense and more
importantly, elapsed time. Cheaper and smarter to "buy in" to
what was already available.
Regarding fundamentals, one really needs to keep "eyes front" with
emerging companies/technologies,IMO. I guess it's a "vision thing".
More later, should you care to pursue this. We can take it off thread, if need be, though others might benefit.
