Excerpts from NEALZ NUZE By Neal Boortz July 7, 1999
SEE HOW EASY THIS IS?
What a target this guy is. He really makes my job all too easy.
Yesterday I closed my show by saying that we would try to engage in a little Clinton bashing today. Hey, not my choice of words, but I'll use them to put a little smile on the faces of the illogical left. Telling the truth about the dishonesty and corruption of Bill Clinton is "bashing" to the left.
At any rate, we learn now that our Ambassador to Vietnam, Pete Peterson, has indicated that Bill Clinton may visit Vietnam before his term expires next year. Peterson said Clinton " ...has told me that he has always wanted to visit Vietnam,''
What? He's always wanted to visit Vietnam?
As I remember, he had a chance, didn't he? Back in about 1969? Wasn't that when Slick Willie was lying and conniving to avoid the draft? Instead, some poor guy went in his place--and likely died--because Bill Clinton wanted to save his own skin. This man who has written of his loathing for the military, and who has gutted the U.S. armed forces, wants to go to Vietnam.
THE TOUR MARCHES ON.
I missed a chance yesterday ... this show is heard in Clarksdale, Mississippi, Clinton's first Tuesday stop on his Spread-the-Wealth - Love-the-Poor tour.
"We are going to do everything we can in the government to give the financial incentives necessary for people to invest here," Clinton said. "I am making this tour of America for one simple reason: I want everybody in America to know that while our country has been blessed with this economic recovery, not all Americans have been blessed by it."
Well, duh. Not everyone gets "blessed" by economic good times. The ones with business savvy, intelligence, and a proper work ethic reap the benefits. Those who lack savvy, intelligence, and work ethic do not
Remember, someone has to cook the french fries.
HILLARY-RODHAM-BASHING
Hillary Clinton intends to do a whole lotta listening while she visits New York. Her "listening tour" of the state begins today. She, her entourage, and about 200 media whores will traipse through upstate New York for four days to let the people speak their minds.
Question: Why does Hillary need to listen? We already know that she's the Smartest Woman in the World. She's already shown us that she knows what's good for us. She refused to listen to medical professionals when she formulated her socialized medicine plan. Now, suddenly, she wants to listen?
You aren't going to be conned by this, are you? (Of course you are.)
Hillary may "pretend" to listen --- but her socialist, big-government agenda will remain in place. She'll say what she needs to say to get elected, and then go forward with her personal agenda.
WHAT ABOUT CLINTONS?
Former Clinton comrade, Arkansas Gov. Jim Guy Tucker's law license was revoked last month by the Arkansas Supreme Court Committee on Professional Conduct.
Some of you may remember that the Southeastern Legal Foundation, along with other groups, has filed a complaint with the State Bar of Arkansas to have Clinton's law license revoked also. Why not take care of two former Arkansas Governors at the same time?
GORE-BASHING / WOMEN-BASHING
According to two articles that appeared in yesterday's New York Times, the Gore campaign appears to be targeting a key demographic: women.
Here's the evidence:
Whenever possible, Gore is introduced to his audiences by a woman. He takes the stage to the tune of Shania Twain's "Rock This Country." A campaign video focuses on portraying him as a husband and father. His daughter, Karenna Schiff, repeatedly assures viewers that her dad is so funny. In his campaign speeches, he addresses day care, early-childhood education, and gender equality. "This pledge," he says, "is in honor of my mother: an equal day's pay for an equal day's work." He promises to "fight for the ability to balance work and family" and "to shield our children from gun violence." His biggest applause line is usually his vow to "make sure we have high-quality preschool available for every child." Just about every "halfway prominent Democratic political woman in America is being discussed as a potential vice-presidential candidate for Gore." Okay, so we know Gore lacks the bare charisma of Bill Clinton. But if he wants to get elected, he's saying the right things to the right people: the brainless soccer moms out there. They got Clinton elected. If they turn out in respectable numbers for their "family-friendly" candidate, maybe the female vote can do it again!
MEDIA-BASHING
Why is George W. Bush getting so much bad press lately about his military service record? Because the same liberal media that refused to grill Bill Clinton about his draft-dodging have fallen in step with the Democrats. Here's a link to a Jon Doughterty column on World Net Daily that examines the liberal bias of the news media. We'll probably talk about it today a bit. worldnetdaily.com
THE RULES JUST DON'T APPLY TO HER
First we learned that all of those campaign trips that Hillary has taken to New York this year were "official First Lady business" and thus should be paid for – and are being paid for – by the taxpayers.
Now we learn that Hillary is going to keep her syndicated weekly column while running for Senator. Pat Buchanan lost his, but then he's a conservative.
The official White House position is that her column isn't about politics.
Let's see ... recent columns on affirmative action and Kosovo .... and it's not about politics?
Just more evidence that the rules are different for the Clintons.
THE BRADY LAW WORKED HERE. NOT.
Benjamin Nathaniel Smith, who killed two people in last weekend's two-state shooting spree, tried first to buy two handguns, a 12-gauge shotgun, and ammunition from a federally licensed firearms dealer. He failed the mandatory 24-hour background check. He failed because a former girlfriend had taken out a restraining order on him.
Wow! It worked! The Brady Law prevented Smith from buying his guns!
Not!
He did what the vast majority of criminals do. He simply went to the street and bought the guns he needed two people in Illinois and Indiana are dead. The Brady Law didn't save their lives.
When will these hysterical anti-gunners realize that new laws won't help because only the law-abiding will follow them?
INTEREST IN HOME SCHOOLING INCREASES
Greater numbers of parents are calling the Colorado Department of Education's home schooling program. They're seeking information on home-schooling so they can pull their kids out of the government schools. After Columbine and other school shootings, parents are catching on that there are alternatives to the federally-sponsored day-care program we call public education.
The National Home Education Research Institute reports that up to 1.6 million children are home schooled. The percent of children educated at home has risen from 7 percent to 15 percent in the past five years.
These kids will be better off than their public-schooled counterparts, that's for sure.
Just thought I would include some good news today.
SHARPTON'S NEW 'DO
The Washington Post reports that the Rev. Al Sharpton has "made another bid for respectability, cutting off his famous pompadour for a more conservative hairdo. He explained that he was getting too old to pull off the James Brown look and still expect people to take him seriously."
Sharpton, by the way, is jumping on the Hillary bandwagon. That's a good fit. A profound liar supporting another profound liar.
GOOD NEWS FOR GEORGIANS
As of July 1, Georgia residents with concealed-handgun permits are allowed to carry concealed in Florida. Florida Gov. Jeb Bush approved the legislation. He knows that concealed-handgun laws are a deterrent to crime.
OH, JUST SAY IT, WILL YOU?
Georgia's State Representative Tyrone Brooks on the trial of State Senator Diana Harvey Johnson, accused of defrauding the state of $78,000: "We understand she rubbed the feathers of some people the wrong way a few years ago and they decided to go after her," said state Rep. Tyrone Brooks (D-Atlanta). "This is just low-down dirty politics. You can clearly see this is ridiculous. This does not belong in a court of law."
Oh, come on, Tyrone. You know you want to say it was racism. After all, anything bad that happens to a black person is because of racism. Admit it. It's The nasty ole Man trying to beat you down.
SPECIAL NOTE TO ATLANTA APARTMENT RENTERS
It's called renter's insurance. Look into it. After all, how much can it cost to insure a stereo, a $700 living room suite and a microwave?

Dick Morris: "The Democrats Go Insane"
The Democratic Party seems to have gone collectively bonkers in the last week, says Morris. In particular, Al Gore has hired two new consultants who are sworn enemies of each other. "Forget about the Bradley and Bush threats," he writes. "Gore's guys will exhaust their talents leaking on and sabotaging each other." nypost.com
