Alan,

I have always been impressed by the breadth and quality of the advertising campaigns that IOM has mounted. I bought a gig-o-color 10 pack of Zip discs last year because I felt inadequate without one. The marketing people have pushed Zip discs both as an image enhancing tool, a productivity tool, a necessary PC accompaniment, a collector's item and a really cool thing to own!

The push to market Clik! will likely have a similar theme. I went to CompUSA yesterday and the sales guy said that the PCMCIA version has been "hot", but the handheld and parallel Clik! drives were moving slowly.

I still wonder whether IOM will target the notebook and the handheld/palm PC markets in a concerted fashion. Do you have a sense for the business plan in this regard?

In some ways I perceive the notebook PCMCIA slot as a relatively limited market. If you employ trends in PC card sales you will understand my concern. I posted the following about a month ago...
