Well, like my mother always said 'niceness counts'!! And I do like your comment about the 'gold mine'. This sol-gel does appear from my rather limited investigation on the net to be a remarkable material, readily handled and mixed at low ambient temperatures and yet able to harden into a glassy structure, which normally requires molten temperatures for handling where glass itself is involved.
