TEMIC launches industry's first SiGe RF IC for DECT

temic-semi.com

With the U7006B, TEMIC Semiconductors replaces the usual GaAs power amplifier devices normally used in DECT applications by a SiGe integrated solution.

Pricing starts at $4.93 for 50k units.

Using SiGe, they've delivered the chip at a very competitive price. This could give them an edge where there is pressure to reduce system costs, e.g. in new applications such as 'home wireless'. That could develop into a significant market. However, DECT = TDMA, and it's CDMA that gets investors excited these days.
