Well, that's very mysterious! Why haven't I been asked to join...the club? Is it because I'm an American Indian from the Yakkitup tribe? No, that's not it....

Anyways, I saw candidate H. Clinton on TV today, and she utterly could not explain why she is running for Senator from this lovely State. Hasn't she been thinking about this?? I was amazed at this lack of a "good" answer.

As humanitarians, we'll have to help. I suggest we on this thread come up with something she can use to get both votes and laughs. Let's work on "Hillary's Top Ten Reasons She Wants to be Senator From New York." I'll start us off:

1. Despite weeks of tutoring from Dan Quayle, still can't remember the proper spelling of "Arkansaw."

2. Bill will suffer on frequent New York trips due to state's tough new Anti-Intern laws.

3. Can reassure nervous New York City pedestrians with "Read my lips..NO NEW TAXIS!"

4. Will hit Giuliani hard on his all too frequent Viagra commercials.

5. Bill's promise to her in noisy room that she'd be popular with "buffaloed voters" misunderstood as "Buffalo voters."

Any more?

Actually, you misconstrue the primary use of the PM. When someone wants to be more insulting than seems appropriate in public, or two people are having a more personal disagreement, they take it to PM. When there may be a more extended off- topic discussion that would disrupt the flow of the thread, then people take it to PM. Only rarely is there an element of pure "talking behind someone's back", and even then some of it has had to do with disputes over being too rough on someone....
