I'll take it another step further. I put orders in to short at the open on a number of analysts recommendations. If it starts going against me, I cover quick, other-wise I just ride it down. The higher it opens, the better (this is a NYSE SuperDOT technique). Generally I find myself with a few little losers, a few little gainers, and a few big gainers. Generally speaking, the "GET ME OUTTA THIS STOCK!" technique works (or maybe it's just the money management).

I just picture a phone call in my head where a big buyer has told his broker "You got me into this thing, it's a dog, get me out NOW!"... the analyst pumps the stock, some buyers jump on it and guess who's selling to them.

You know, kinda like when someone comes on this thread pumping a stock ;)
