Licensing vs owning software Not the only Federal Court Judge to make this mistake. Some can't tell the difference between the value of source code and the value of the shrink wrapped box. Smart move by Novell though. Good legal work. What do you think the chances are that the Senate will start to demand new Federal Court appointees know something about protecting intellectual property rights before they get confirmation? The simple question: "What is source code?" should eliminate 90% of the Tammany Hall appointees.
