CNET

I bought some yesterday during the selloff at the close. Earnings are out June 15 after the close, and I think that'll "remind" the Street that the company has the ability to translate eyeballs into growth on both the top and bottom lines. IMHO, the Street is blowing it with its negative reaction to CNET's marketing campaign: what do they want them to do with its $200 million cash and $500 million liquid securities, buy an email-services company? CNET has set a goal of bringing in 5-7 million new users for $15-20 apiece. That's a good deal, if you consider that CNET's market cap currently works out to about $350 per user and that AMZN's market cap values users at about $2000 apiece.

CNET is definitely speculative as a short-term play right now, since it's out of favor. But earnings may provide a catalyst and make this a fair time to try a contrarian play.

I also have started accumulating for the earnings plays the week of June 19.
