Chevron/Sasol building a plant in Nigeria....Texaco/Sasol building a small plant in the U.S using coal. I believe the New Zealand project was methanol converted to gasoline which did not work out so now its just methanol. GTL ...or "gas to liquids" is different from methanol. There is a company in Alberta that does this...Synergy(OILS)....they have heavy oil upgrade technology but their main business is GTL. Will start a pilot plant this fall. Rentech(RNTKC)...is another....they are proceeding with a plan to convert shut down methanol plants to GTL plants. Syntroleum(SYNM)....have the Arco pilot plant. .......I do not know if this liquid is as easy to reform as methanol or as hard to reform as diesel.......raisin
