Concensus is to lose 2 cents. If they breakeven or plus a penny or two with a positive forward outlook and CC we could get analyst upgrades and some other catalysts moving forward. One area that intrigues me is the business intelligence opportunities. There was an interesting post on the IBM thread pointing to a META Group report showing enormous growth in data mining for business intelligence applications. Though SGI was not mentioned I have to believe their equipment is being purchased for this application. SGI's hardware directly competes with the IBM SP series which is the best suited product line due to it's highly parallel Risc engines that can process huge applications and data in parallel over dozens of Risc engines. No other architecture does this better. The IBM SP uses microcode to link the Risc engines, SGI uses ODSI's switches to accomplish the same operation. Currently, the ODSI business with SGI is primarily in the Government area requiring large parallel operations such as DOE, DOD, etc. If SGI pushes into the commercial data mining application areas this will be a huge plus for both SGI and ODSI. Still long and remaining optimistic.

The way ODSI conducts their earnings release and CC is refreshing in the sense that it is open to all with a published 800 number. Certainly appears they want the most visibility possible. Hopefully, that means a good report.

By the way, on ZICA, I have owned this in the distant past when they first announced their Chinese language system. Good for a few trades. From the price it appears it split at some point unless it just got sucked down. Anyway, they have been a bride's maid for a long time never being able to put it all together and their window is closing because voice recognition will eventually obviate ZICA's offerings. Voice recognition is more conducive to adapting to the dialect issue in China. But if you are interested in following it Robert Peladeau is the main DD guy on that thread though he is totally buy-side oriented. Been too close to it for too long I guess.
