Dan,

Jane came and spoke in Fayetteville, NC while I was stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC (just outside of Fayetteville) shortly after I returned from VN.
I didn't hold it against her and never have. After the Tet offensive I felt LBJ basically had just fed us a bunch of BS all along---and as it turns out the documents that came to light during and after the war proved that this was so. IN my opinion, after extensive reading on the subject after my return, Vn was a war of National LIberation. Ho first fought the French, then the Japanese (with our aid---the OSS[the forerunner of the CIA} recommended that we back HO after WWII), but because we France in Europe to help us check the Russians we went with France. So he took on us. IF you only have time to read one book on this subject I recommend Halberstram's "The BEst & the Brightest."

I hold no animosity toward anyone who choose to serve in the NG or reserves.

Bill
