Y2K Bug Impact: A Thin Piece of Pie

JULY 99
SO HOW MANY Y2K bug fixes have the major PC software vendors released over the last year? Not many, when compared to the total bug fixes. BugNet data indicates that Y2K bug fixes repesented less than one percent of all bug fixes over the last year. Of course, there are at least two ways to read this data. One is that the vendors haven't been making a real effort to fix Y2K problems in older programs. The other is that there really is no serious Y2K problem on the Wintel platform.
