I was in a local gun shop the other day that sells Browning products. The proprietor said he was doing a land office business selling their gun safes. About the size of a coke machine and weighing over 800 lbs, these safes cost from $900 to $1800. Attractive enough to be "furniture", they look like they could hold all ones papers, weapons, jewels, cash and then some. They look extremely solid.

If you have the resources, and fear that access to a safe deposit box just might be curtailed by a bank holiday, this might be an alternative. Check it out.

Anyone who could hike a 900 lb safe out of your house probably deserves it.
