BEAM is close to getting approval for its machines to correct farsightedness. Should be ny end of Q3. That will put it on equal footings with VISEX. IN fact I read an interview with BEAM's CEO where he stated that VISX machines has a post operative halo problem in 20% of the cases. That problem occurs only in 2% of BEAM's surgeries. The problem that BEAM has now is profitability. That should improve with increased sales volume resulting from the upgrade of their machines.
