Another thing ... I just saw an ad for a line of TVs that are "iTV" ready ... meaning the STB is internal .... same way as a few years ago when they became "cable ready." I actually suggested this idea in a paper I gave at a VOD forum in 1995 and was laughed at (kinda like I am here most of the time). You will see new TVs coming out shortly with a lot of digital ports (1394 and USB) to tie into home theatres ("stereos") and to the HAN Home area Network." Christmas. These will excite people ... some will have built-in DVD and "Tivo-like" features. Just watch. TVs with DSL in 2000 too. Be careful while owning STB oriented companies ... they might have single-gen products.
