Re. Florida, here's more recent info on the anti-SLAPP bill:

it looks like the bill was attempted again in 1999, but I don't know what the outcome was.

If you go to leg.state.fl.us , you can search the archives and turn up lots of stuff.

It looks like the bill re-appeared in 1999 as S 64 in the senate, where it passed 3/30/99.

A related bill was H 0339 in the house. However, it says that this bill "died" in a house committee 4/30/99.

Elsewhere, in the calendar for the house, it appears that activity in the house ceased after 4/30/99, so I would guess that "died" means that the legislature session ended that day without the house gettting around to voting on the bill. That's my guess, anyway.
