Hi, I'd like to take a crack at today's announcement as well. If you have 600 shares, I believe you'll end up with 1200 shares. Period. A one-for-one stock dividend, as I see it, is the same thing as a two for one stock split. For some reason the San Jose, Calif. Uniphase Corp. has chosen to call it a one-for-one stock dividend. Our brother company North of the border (JDS Uniphase Canada Ltd.) has chosen to call their's by the more traditional name of a 2:1 stock split. My .02 worth, Barb
