Just saw Gary Bauer on C-Span. Said whenever conservatives try to move to middle and use terms like big tent, they lose. Said we have lost elections not because we are conservative but because we have been embarrassed of our conservatism. Got on GWB, the "front-runner" for 1. Giving up the issue of abortion by saying he is pro-life and then using the word but, but this, but that. 2. Giving in to Hollywood, said one male actor(Warren Beatty) was very pleased with GWB after GWB's talk in H/Wood 3. His stand on trade, esp. w/re to China trade policies and "favored nation status". Bauer thinks this status should be revoked because of T.Square and the lack of religious freedom. Thought Bush should have taken a stand. Said Clintoon/Gory (in 92) criticized Bush but then carried on essentially the same trade policy.($$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$)Bauer said he won't sell out the American people and wants to protect American workers. Bauer says he will let his supporters stay in Lincoln bedroom for free. -g- HiTech
