Two weeks later she married the judge. You must have missed that.

Which would have made reversal on appeal virtually automatic. The appearance of fairness would have been so obvious that no appellate court would let it stand.

Frankly, until I see the actual orders, I'm thinking this is urban myth territory.

I agree with Christopher. And I would suggest that not only would reversal on appeal be automatic, but also that the judge just might have to worry about keeping his judgeship.
